Hats aren’t cheap and Buffalo Bills fans aren’t willing to give up their swag no matter how famous you are.
Those are two lessons that Justin Timberlake learned on Monday night. The famous singer was at the KeyBank Center this week as part of his The Forget Tomorrow World Tour. During his show, a Bills fan asked Timberlake to take a selfie using her cellphone. As an added bonus, Timberlake picked up a Bills hat on stage and took a photograph donning what he thought was a souvenir.
After the photo-op ended, Timberlake asked if the fan was giving him her Bills hat. In the famous words of Lee Corso, “Not so fast!”
The fan denied him of the hat which Timberlake seemed to respect.
“That’s yours? You want it back? Oh, you are for real a Bills fan. I love you,” Timberlake said on the microphone after asking if he could keep the hat.
He following up joking about the Bills Mafia’s well known affinity for tables, albeit saying picnic tables instead of folding tables.
“Give me my hat back! I got a picnic table to break in that hat, man,” Timberlake joked.
You can see the video of the interaction below as well as the selfie Timberlake took while wearing the Bills hat.
Timberlake is actually a fan of the Green Bay Packers. Growing up, he found himself cheering for quarterback Brett Favre which led to the Packers becoming his favorite NFL franchise. Josh Allen, Buffalo’s star quarterback, has drawn comparisons to Favre over the years for his gunslinger style so perhaps it’s possible that Timberlake changes allegiances sometime down the road and purchases a Bills hat of his own.
